Also, I kind of find it a little ironic that after renaming the site to Frequency, the frequency of posts has fallen to a new low. Frown

But still, it's good to know that so many of you are still around, even if most are just lurking.

It was the Cancer of OneClick Wi-Fi.

Low frequency... gamma waves... cancer...?

I want to keep the site up as long as people still have interest in keeping loose contact.

Well maybe someday the site will be reborn? Nobody knows what the future will hold, and I like to think of myself as an optimist. Sometimes.

Is it possible to change this place up a bit? It's possible to bring it back to life. (but is it worth the effort?)

I am passionate about keeping in loose contact.

Some of us don't even know what fun is.

I remember back when everyone had already said that giving this place a re-birth wouldn't fix a thing - I've been through this long enough now to realize that it's not going to change anything.

I'm working full time, I don't have much time to play games and when I do, I probably wouldn't have time to wait for someone on Frequency to find someone to play with. This is probably the case for everyone, but I literally spend most of my free time on Reddit anyway because that's a lot more interesting.

But that's just one problem, if Alain can pay us all money to use this site then that's that problem solved, but then we have the problem of the 6 active people on this site to all have the same console and games to play at the same time, and have a tournament set up. Slightly difficult with Time=zones but a problem for me since the latest Nintendo Console I have is a 3DS which I hardly play anymore. So yeah, that's another problem.

Anyway, you guys want features and shit to do, I'm sure there are plenty of people on here proficient in code (like me) and can do this shit - empty your pockets and let's get some donations going to pay for developers like us to add some stuff - Alain, get this privately Github already and get something going - if you guys care about this site enough to fund it's development and perhaps in turn increase it's user based, we could run an entire not-for-profit Nintendo community website! Smile

p.s. I think this is a good idea, but if you don't, don't shoot it down, suggest something for yourself. Smile

That actually might be a cool idea, Daniel. Would anybody be interested in me open sourcing the site and then accepting pull requests for any code changes people make?

I like the idea of an open source Frequency. I've been using Github quite a bit recently for Minecraft mods and some work related projects. I'd love to be able to add to Frequency.

However, I don't think we'll see any donations/increased activity though. As we saw when Alain first put up this site, activity for a few weeks from our group of regulars and then that's about it. There's a few reasons with why this happens as far as I'm concerned, and resolving them would take a large time investment. Even if I was paid, I just don't have the extra time for something this big.

It'd be cool if we could get the site active again, but I just don't see it happening.

Yes, I see this more as a community learning experience. I think this might be a nice evolution in the site's future. A lot of us have become programmers, so being able to contribute to a common application might be pretty cool.
