Ruby CGI

Well, my assignment deadline is creeping up on me and I have to do some Ruby CGI, something of which I know nothing about. I was hoping if anyone knew something about this so they could help me quite a bit? Honestly every little help from you guys to help me get the first half of my second year out the great will be highly appreciated.

I've turned you guys in the hope of any specific help I can receive, as Ruby CGI on Google is very hard to find and I don't understand a great deal of it - I need it explaining for a

The tasks I have to do can be in there most basic form excluding any security issues, I also need to have an understanding of what's going on for the demonstration so a run through of any code given to me would be great.

Here's part of what I need to do:
* Create a registration system and store the information in a text file
* Show different content dynamically if the content is logged in (so ruby sessions/ cookies)

I know this isn't a helpful post, but god damn, CGI? What is this, 1996?

When I'm home I might look up some stuff though because I'm curious myself. If I find anything useful I'll get back to you.

Basically by CGI he means a server-side script. I was on his course doing that same assignment, and it was super easy even though I'd never done Ruby before and really he should have been paying attention in lectures.

The lectures have changed since, they focus them on the exam and you have to go out and learn ruby yourself - this is something everyone on the course is now struggling with.

And that's OK, we spend a good deal of the semester trying to configure the damn apache servers ourselves because the notes he gave us were out of date.

The link you gave me has another link to Ruby sessions but I think the link is broken Frown I've been looking on another server and they are the hardest thing to understand ever.

Autolinks were disabled temporarily Sliker because of a problem that popped up. They're back online now though. An explicit url bbcode tag will come later, but I just came back from work. Let me rest a little bit.
